We went to the church last night for the Maundy Thursday service.  I was absolutely delighted that they defined what the word "Maundy" meant.  That's one of those words that I've heard since I was a kid but never remembered to look up whenever I had the time or access to a dictionary (or these days, wiktionary.com).  It derived from a latin word for "mandate", after Jesus's mandate to observe communion; particularly on the Thursday before Easter since that's when he is supposed to have had his last supper.  It's all part of the Methodist Holy Week thing.

For me the best part was seeing Geoff and finding out that he and his wife have had their new baby and that everyone is fine (except for some sleep deprivation).  It seems not to have impaired his guitar playing.
