I got a bit of woodworking done this weekend. Yay me.
Evan and his buddies got their first commission to produce a video for someone else: a girl running for student council. Great was the production thereof. In terms of his running around doing a lot of work. The final result has yet to be shown – apparently some censorship has occurred. There was a brief scene with two of them holding nerf guns and this has been struck down by the powers that be. It had to be re-edited and re-burned. They are all greatly annoyed. With the righteous indignation and energy of youth, they prepared to head to the principal himself to have this great creative injustice overturned but Mel and I told him that no principal would ever overturn a decision made by a staffer in favor of a student. That’s just the way things work. He pretty much left it there – too much trouble to do otherwise I guess. He will leave this fight for someone else. I hope.
We skipped church and slept in Sunday and it felt glorious. To just sit and sip coffee, read the paper, and listen to the birds outside while the dog stretches out at my feet; that’s a rare pleasure that I really enjoy.
Erin is beside herself with anticipation as the cast list will be published today for the spring play. Which part did she get? We shall see.
We got together with some people from church last night. We have some material to study and discuss but I find it a bit boring. The whole point is to get together with other people in a small group. The study material is just the honorable excuse to get together. That’s what I think anyway. But I missed MythBusters – hooray for VCRs.
